Piazza Italia

As proud Partners of Piazza Italia from it’s birth all those years ago, we at La Source always look forward to this wonderful event.

Horshams’ Piazza Italia XI had a lot to live up to – after all the event has been getting bigger and better now for the last ten years!

Live up to it it did though – the weather was kind, and over a hundred thousand visitors were treated to a wide range of fantastic entertainment.

Cars – well there were plenty of them to drool over – even a visit from a Bugatti Veyron no less! The Bullseye Scooter Group came mob-handed with their superbly restored and ‘modded up’ Vespas and Lambrettas and there were some classic British bikes to see too!

Friday saw  Ferrari alongside Mini (The Italian job!) as well as theatre (The Two Gentlemem of Horsham were a scream!) and opera. Fabulous street theatre (including Gordini The Gondolier) and all things food and drink!

Plenty of fun provided by the Stay Safe Driving school with their young drivers experience all in the Kwik Fit Safety Zone.

Saturday saw a fab display of the famous Fiat 500’s alongside Porsche (ok – not strictly Italian but hey a bit of flexibility!) Alfa Romeo and Maserati.

Comedy Chefs Jake and Sidney Pie (they were hilarious!) kept the crowds entertained as well as some beautifully performed Opera from the bandstand and roving harmony singers roved and entertained wonderfully.

So to Monday – several Mclarens roared into town and parked up in the square with dozens of Alfa Romeo in the Carfax.  Lamborghini, more Fiat 500 and Abarth. To be honest the list goes on; Bugatti, Audi, Jaguar – even one of the great Michael Schumachers Ford Benettons turned up.

That was just some of the cars! The food market was sumptuous, the La Moda Charity Fashion Show was a great success and there was more street theatre, singing and dancing than you could shake a stick at!

Frankly it was exhausting! Everywhere you turned in Horsham there was something exciting to see or do and – if you couldn’t make it this year – get down next year, you don’t know what you are missing!
